Jehovah’s Voice
Privacy Policy
Effective: September 13, 2026
Jehovah’s Voice — Scripture & Encouragement is designed so personal Bible study can remain on your device. This policy explains what the app stores, when it connects to outside services, and the choices you control.
Personal study data
Favorites, bookmarks, highlights, notes, tags, reading history, preferences, Guided Study progress, Study Trails, Talk Builder work, downloaded translation packs, and backup reminders are stored locally on your device. The current release has no user account, advertising system, analytics tracker, or developer-operated cloud synchronization.
Search and encouragement
Words entered into the app’s encouragement and installed-Scripture search tools are processed on your device. The app does not save emotional-search wording. If an online Bible chapter is requested, the chapter request is sent to the Bible text provider so the requested text can be returned; that provider may receive ordinary technical information such as an IP address under its own practices.
Audio and device permissions
Read-aloud uses voices made available by the operating system. Jehovah’s Voice does not record your microphone or upload a recording of your voice. Some device voice features may be delivered by Apple or the device maker under that provider’s terms.
Backups and downloads
Study Backup and exported talks create files only when you request them. You decide where those files are stored or shared. Optional Bible translation packs and Scroll PDFs are downloaded only after you choose them.
External websites, support, and donations
Links to JehovahsVoice.org, donation services, emergency resources, and other websites open outside the app. Those services apply their own privacy practices. Opening the Jehovah’s Voice Online menu does not begin a donation. The app does not process payment information.
Children
The app is a general-audience Bible study resource. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children and does not provide accounts, advertising, public posting, or direct messaging.
Your choices
You may remove saved items inside the app, remove optional translation downloads, or delete the app and its local data through your device. Export a Study Backup first if you want to keep your study work.
Contact and changes
Questions may be sent to scrollkeeper@jehovahsvoice.org. If this policy changes materially, the effective date and published policy will be updated.
